UEW: WHERE IS THE SITE AND CONTRACTOR FOR THE SRC HOSTEL? – Mudasiru ask the SRC

During a discussion segment on radio Wendy Bay on 19^th February 2019 on a program titled campus file, Mudasiru (a.k.a. Muda) a level 300 student of the department of the Biology Education and a member of the Student Bar asked the SRC executives especially the acting SRC presidency to show the entire student body the site for the SRC hostel project they claim it is under construction. He said the SRC should show the student populace the Contractor for the project, the budget involve and the total capacity of the hostel.

After the discussion, there was an agitation offline among the students and also thanking Muda for opening up such a secret. To some, they wouldn’t have known the SRC was undertaken such a good initiative. And they think this is one of ways of embezzling the SRC dues. 

This issue set the record straight that the SRC lacks publicity in terms of events organization and making information known to the students. On a close up interview with some of the SRC and NUGS executives earlier before campus file on radio Wendy Bay, the host Elkay said the SRC lacks publicity and the SRC P.R.O denied that statement. He said the SRC has the best publicity because of whatsApp platforms he has created in sharing of information. The question is how many students have joined or are on whatsApp? Just recently the SRC allegedly cancelled its valentine day program because of its poor publicity.

The SRC on 22^nd February  2019 will be UNVEILING MISS UEW which will be held at the AMU theatre at central campus. Entreating all students should grace the occasion and make it a success.
